Grid Southwest Network Status Update

February 12, 2026

✓ Service Restored
⚠️ Upcoming Scheduled Maintenance

When: February 13, 2026 from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM CST
Impact: Brief intermittent service interruptions possible
Reason: Primary transit line inspection and repair

What Happened

We experienced network disruptions today due to a series of events affecting our redundant fiber connections between our OKC and Jones datacenters. Service has been fully restored, and we've rescheduled necessary maintenance to minimize customer impact.

Timeline of Events

February 11, 2026 - Mid Morning
Initial Issue Detected
Our primary transit line (COX) between OKC and Jones datacenters began experiencing flapping (intermittent connectivity). Our monitoring systems detected the instability.
February 11, 2026 - Mid Morning
Failover to Backup Line
We proactively switched to our backup transit line (Dobson Fiber) to maintain service quality while the primary line issue was being investigated. Service remained stable during this transition.
February 12, 2026 - Afternoon - 3:56p
Backup Line Outage
Our backup Dobson Fiber line experienced an outage due to construction activity in the area. This resulted in a brief service disruption as we were operating on the backup circuit.
February 12, 2026 - Afternoon - 4:10p
Service Restored
We switched back to the primary COX circuit to restore service. While the line is functional, the original flapping issue still requires investigation and repair.
February 13, 2026 - 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM CST
Scheduled Maintenance (Rescheduled)
Originally scheduled for 5:00 PM on February 12, we've requested this maintenance window be moved to overnight hours to minimize impact to customers. COX will inspect and repair the primary circuit during this time.

Technical Details

  • Affected Infrastructure: Inter-datacenter transit links (OKC ↔ Jones)
  • Primary Circuit: COX Communications fiber (experienced flapping)
  • Backup Circuit: Dobson Fiber (construction damage)
  • Current Status: Operating on primary COX circuit
  • Redundancy: Both circuits will be fully operational after maintenance

What to Expect During Maintenance

  • Maintenance window: 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM CST on February 13, 2026
  • Services will automatically reconnect if interrupted
  • Our team will be monitoring throughout the maintenance window

Our Commitment

Grid Southwest maintains redundant network infrastructure specifically to prevent service disruptions since to May 2025 to reduce time to restore. While today's events were unusual—experiencing issues on both circuits within a short timeframe—our infrastructure design allowed us to maintain service and quickly respond to changing conditions.

We appreciate your patience as we complete the necessary repairs to restore full redundancy to our network.
